Please note, this is not an art contest. You do not have to have an awesome complete composition, just a cool design.

Original Contest Journal

Notes About the Contest

I'll have you know, I made sure to read every word of every description and envision every design as a 3d physical room guardian. It was so much fun to read your interpretations of a morgul wolf society. It gave me many ideas myself and I'm so excited that I gave many of you in the middle of an art block a reason to create. There was such a wonderful range of inspiration, from video games, birds, candy, cultures, to even tablecloths, I am so impressed with your creativity... seriously. Many of your stories had common themes and a few of your design stories were eerily similar, as if this character was speaking to multiple people to be trans

Kamui's design was quite the challenge, but it was very fun to try and recreate accurately. He has a clear quartz heart and a plastic neck armature. All the feathers are made from fake flower petals. The ponytail and tail tuft were made from brushed out yarn. I really love how vibrant his colors came out. I had to sew on a few feather accessories. I just think he's gorgeous!

2nd place Design:
The Horizon Dancer, Zestiria inspired Morgul Wolf by JereduLevenin

Room Guardians are small creatures that protect one's home from negative spirits and energies. These friends can be easily placed on window sills, kitchen shelves, dressers, or wherever to keep watch over the room. Each guardian has a soft faux fur coat and each is individually sculpted from the wire frame to the clay face and hands, so no two are alike. The room guardians' arms, tails, and necks are bendable and Inside each of their chests is a unique crystal heart to give each one a different energy. These little guys have a lot of character and they love having a home to watch over.

 1. How did you come up with the room guardian concept?
The idea caught fire when a friend and I were walking through an antique store. On one of the bookshelves sat two stuffed foxes wearing riding clothes. I contemplated buying them because one could convince themselves that their expressionless stares were actually seeing and watching over the room. It was as if they were alive though they were a long way from being realistic. My contemplation came to an end when I realized I could spend less money and have a better one if I just made it myself. That is where

Thank you so much! I would really love to make one, it just takes so much time.

Do you have a Patreon? You could make the time spent into a tutorial worthwhile by setting a tutorial as one of your goals, and when it's complete set it as one of your rewards rewards for people who contribute a certain amount to you. Over the long term I'm sure it would more than pay for itself!

I actually do have a patreon that I have yet to make public haha.
I am definitely considering doing something like that, I have just been
taking my time to think up a good way to do everything. It would probably
be worth it to do something like that. I'll keep working on it!

Rad! I'm excited to hear that.
CaptainCrabcakes Featured By Owner Jan 3, 2016  Student Traditional Artist
That would be awesome. I really love your work.
ooh quick question, I was thinking of making a morgul wolf character and wanted to know if you could give me any tips on design im struggling with colours mostly.
AnyaBoz Featured By Owner Jan 4, 2016  Professional Artisan Crafter
Hmm, I would have to know more specifics to give you any guidance.
Were you looking to do natural colors or more rainbow colors?
CaptainCrabcakes Featured By Owner Jan 5, 2016  Student Traditional Artist
I was thinking mainly natural, but with bright coloured accents.
AnyaBoz Featured By Owner Jan 9, 2016  Professional Artisan Crafter
Well there isn't any general rule for the colors, but I find in general, more neutral natural
colors like black, white, and grey mix pretty well with any bright color. The trickier colors to
mix are like browns and tans. I guess you can always look through my morgul contest entries
folder to get some inspiration.…

Hope that helps a little bit! Just experiment with different combinations until you find something
that strikes you:D

I've gone with cream and pale orange. I have a picture but it isn't scanned idk if it looks ok.
AnyaBoz Featured By Owner Jan 14, 2016  Professional Artisan Crafter
That sounds like a good combo! I love subtle blends like that:D

I love the face, but not the body. I don't know, maybe it could be otherwise.

Anyway, it's very nice. A mask would be awesome!
